WayneCares Strategy

We achieve our mission through four key pillars of service:

  • Direct Relief: Operating a food pantry that provides essential nutrition and household items to those facing hunger and poverty.
  • Targeted Support: Organizing community events designed to provide specific material aid to vulnerable groups.
  • Community Networking: Working with volunteers and local partners to support our mission.
  • Advocacy: Actively communicating our purpose and programs to ensure every resident in Radnor Township and surrounding communities knows where to find help or how to give it.

WayneCares History

Founded more than 20 years ago as a small, volunteer-run food pantry at Wayne United Methodist Church, WayneCares was created to help local families facing food insecurity in the Main Line area. In March 2022, WayneCares became an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, an important milestone that strengthened our ability to grow sustainably and deepen our impact. Over the years, we have grown into a trusted and reliable community resource, expanding our reach through partnerships with organizations such as Philabundance and local retailers to rescue and distribute surplus food and household supplies. Today, we proudly serve more than 80 households each week through our guest-choice, grocery-style food pantry, providing dignity, choice, and compassionate support to all of our guests. As community needs continue to evolve, WayneCares remains committed to expanding programs, improving infrastructure, and ensuring that no one in our community faces hunger alone.
